In order to help passengers move quickly and easily between Gatwick Airport parking facilities and the new terminal, driverless pods which will be controlled by an internal computer and sensor system will be introduced.
The pods are part of a new phenomenon called personal rapid transport (PRT) and will help ease traffic congestion whilst providing people with the same privacy they would get in their own car whilst using only a fraction of the energy.
They don’t run on a timetable and customers should find a pod waiting for them when they arrive at the service. This means no waiting around for busses and as well as this, there aren’t any other stops along the way and no traffic lights. As they are set as private taxis customers are always guaranteed seats and don’t have to share a pod with people they don’t know.
With so many advantages of the new pods being introduced, customers travelling between Gatwick Airport parking and Terminal 5 are bound to be happy with the new and exciting choice of transport which is predicted to be a massive success.
